WiFi Connections Not the Same - TF300 and Dell Laptop?

When I use my TF300 I can log onto my neigbour's wifi (his wifi connection is not password protected).

When I use my Dell laptop I can see his connection in the list of networks which are available and the connection strength is good but I cannot connect successfully to his network. I keep seeing the little triangle with the exclamation mark over top of the wifi icon in the taskbar.

Why does my asus tablet connect but my Dell laptop not connect? Any ideas?

BTW - My neighbour has unlimited wifi and has given me his blessing to use his connection.

Unless someone here also has a Dell laptop you may be better off asking about wifi connections in a Dell laptop forum. Check the wifi settings in your two devices and see if they are the same or different? Good luck.

I have 5 Dell laptops and have no problems connecting to my U-Verse WIFI or my Verizon hotspot.

Take the Dell to another wireless site if works than it's your neighbours problem, if not then it's your problem. Could be a bad driver, bad wireless card, etc.

Maybe he already found your Dell Laptop MAC Address and blocked it?

How old is the notebook? Could it be wireless G and the network is N only?
