What is the best phone to "connect" to TF300T?

To answer the OP's first question, I use an SGS2 as a WiFi hotspot to connect my TF300T when I'm away from home and so far it's been rock solid. Tested it in a car ride for over 100 miles outside major citys and it did a good job. Even streaming video on a sports website worked fine.

For the second question. It's fairly easy. First set up the hotspot in the phone by going into Settings/More.../Tethering and portable hotspot/Configure portable WiFi hotspot. Here you enter a Network SSID name, a WPA2-PSK key and press store/accept/or wathever ().
Now turn on Portable WiFi hotspot é voila your phone is ready to make connections with WiFi capable devices.
On the tablet under WiFi in Settings you will see a new WiFi access point with the SSID name you entered in the phone. Tap it, enter the WPA2-PSK key you set in the phone and tap connect. After about 15 to 20 seconds the tablet will be connected to the phone.

I use my Galaxy Note 2, but I never realized that one phone's hotspot is better than another. I think what kind of network you are on (3G vs 4G or 4G LTE - I'm on 4G LTE) makes a big difference.

You have piqued my attention. But first, here is our story. My wife got a Motorola some years ago and I got an Iphone 3gs. We thought we would compare the two. Within two weeks my wife threw up her hands and said we had to get rid of the Mororola. Fortunately, AT&T let us return it and get another Iphone 3gs. We found the Iphones to be so much more intuitive and user friendly than the Motorola (our only experience with an android phone). We are now in a position that we can update our phones and choose an android one if we want to. Could you please give us an idea why the Iphones are VERY over-rated compared to android equivalents? What can the android phones accomplish that the Iphone cannot, and are the android phones as intuitive and user friendly as the Iphones? There are possibly others that read this forum that also may be interested in your answers.

I currently use a Galaxy Nexus as my phone and when it comes to tab internet, i just use tethering.
BUT!
1) it's killing nexus's battery (already lasts less than 20hours with mid use)
2) have a second sim that's loaded with internet (free MBs/month)

So, my question is : Is there an android phone for hotspotting with huge amounts of energy capabilities and low cost?
Also, i'm going to use it as a phone (calls,sms) but only once or twice a week.

I'm not sure about the "low cost," but I use a Razr Maxx to tether my 101, and it works really well!

Just buy an extended battery from Amazon.. way cheaper way to go

But i intent to use the second sim i got for internet to share it on both the nexus and the Prime.
