Bricked or not Bricked------Patience may pay off
Hi All,
I'm a newbie here but I want to relay my experience so far with my TF300T with ICS.
I bought my tablet back in November. All worked great until about 3 weeks ago when my tablet informed me of an OS update. Without thinking I hit the okay to update button. After about 5 mins I had the android on his back with red explanation mark. The tablet restored itself..
After that I had many issues. Random rebooting, No Wifi etc... After reading some threads on here I did a factory reset. This then started a series of signature mismatch errors etc.... I thought the tablet was bricked and tried a whole host of things. I found if you were patient the tablet would reboot it self after about 10 cold boots that would say signature mismatch.. It would then work fine for about an hour or two before a random reboot and signature mismatch error again.
Three times I tried to manuallly upgrade to JB from MicroSD only for the android to fall over with exclaimation mark. Then I would get more signature mismatch boots followed by a succesful reboot into updtade mode with the spinning belly on the android. I was about to give up hope and ring ASUS to send the unit back when after about 12 attempts to hard reset the tablet spun into life with the spinning belly. After leaving it for about 10 mins it said rebooted successfully and said update completed...
I checked the build version but it still reported 4.0.3 ICS.
I then factory reset 3 times and all was well. I tried to manually upgrade to JB again but it failed at about the same point saying Update failed(2) unknown error.
I factory reset agian 3 times and left for a day. All was well. I have reloaded all my apps and so far 3 days later all is working smoothly although it does sometimes drop Wifi connection. Sometimes a rescan works sometimes a reboot works. Hopefully the signature mismatches are a thing of the past but I don't JB agrees with my tablet for some reason...
So be patient and keep trying a cold reboot as your machine just might bounce back into life like mine...##
Has anyone experienced this? HAs anyone else failed to update to JB? My tablet is a UK based one with a WW sku.

Wow, what a horror story, Stevie. From your post, it sounds as if you've read all the guides about updating and factory resets (3x, etc.). My unprofessional reaction is to just f'get'aboud'it, Jelly Bean, that is, and stick with ICS if it's behaving itself! BTW - welcome to the forum, keep us informed of any future trials and tribulations!

I, too, received my TF300T in late November. The update was also troublesome with random re-boots. I powered down and plugged in and the Transformer would power up on its own. I read several helpful threads on the forum. After 24 hours of craziness and many cold reboots, I let the Transformer and dock batteries completely deplete, plugged it in, powered down and left it for a 10 hour charge, did a cold reboot, and everything has been great since then. The update to JB completed and there have been no more random reboots.
I have had a really good time learning how to use my Transformer. This forum has been very helpful so thank you to everybody who contributes. Patience and persistence is key.

Welcome to the forum Lindy, the power down is an interesting angle, maybe something for others to try!
