Finger print under gorilla glass?
Hi guys,
I have a really annoying problem with my TF300. Somehow a finger print-shaped mark is clearly visible just off center of my screen. I've tried to show it in the photo below but trust me, it is more obvious than this picture shows; especially when watching TV/movies etc. Does anyone know if Asus will repair this under warranty? Also, my TF300 is unlocked. I'm guessing I'll have to lock it again before I return it? Thanks all!

First i would try an exchange with your retailer. If that doesn't work then off to Asus repair.
Asus TF 101 16 Gig B60 W/Dock Rooted Team EOS 4 JB 4.2
Galaxy S 3 International Quad Core Rooted Running WanamLite 5.2 JB 4.2.1
Macbook Pro 13.3
Asus N56U Wireless Network Router
Airport Extreme Wireless Router
Asus WL-330N3G Portable Wireless Router

Yeah the retailer is a bit of a nightmare to deal with unfortunately. They normally send stuff away for weeks.

I belive that if you used the ASUS unlocking tool it is no longer under warrenty. I also don't think it can be reversed. I could be wrong but you may what to check on the ASUS site.

re: Finger print under gorilla glass?
Even though Asus has an unlock tool. Once unlocked there's nothing to reverse it and the warranty is now void.

I never learned from a man who agreed with me.

Comment copied from XDA site:
your serial number gets sent to asus so your warranty is void even if you relock. they can track it down to your device...
I did a search on "relock bootloader asus TF300"

I sent mt TF300 away for repair last week and I received an email today and I just got an email back with the following...
Dear Sir/ Madam,
Recently you sent an ASUS product to our repair centre for service.
Unfortunately, damage has been found which is not covered by Asus warranty.
Therefore, attached you will find the CID (Customer induced damage) charge list.
On the charge list they listed that a screen replacement will cost 404 Euro!
Needless to say, I am absolutely livid with this. I have never dropped my TF300 and nor have I ever opened it. How on Earth would it be possible for me to get my fingers in behind the so-called tough Gorilla Glass??? Unfortunately I didn't get an opportunity to call them today but when I call them tomorrow I'm going to find it very difficult to remain calm.
This is the third Transformer I have had. I've owned the TF101 (which exhibited a similar issue) and the TF201 Prime. This is the one and only time I've contacted them for warranty purposes and I find this outcome incredibly frustrating. Has anyone else had similar issues?
Thank you.

I would guess that the fact it was "unlocked" is the problem. Unfortunately there may not be much that you can do here. Good luck though, I hope that you can get it taken care of.

I specifically said to the female customer service rep when I called to log the fault that the device had been unlocked and I asked if this would be a problem. Her reply was that, because this was not software related then this would not be a problem. If that is the case then I have been ill-informed. In addition to this; if Asus are saying there is no warranty whatsoever with unlocked devices then why are they providing unlock codes? That is totally wrong. Once again, this has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the fact that the device is unlocked.

Unless you have an email or something where she agreed to this, you are probably still hooped. I agree that there is no way you put a fingerprint under there, but ASUS did have a big warning attached to that unlock tool.

Like I said above, I do hope you get lucky and can get it fixed
