    TF300T is slow. Any solution?

Hi! I had my TF300T for a while and I noticed that it was really slow. I thought that with the Tegra3, it would have been a good and fast tablet.

To fix this, I did what other people suggested here : a coldboot. It does fix the problem but it comes back slowly after a while.

Is there a permanent fix to this? Should I consider a custom ROM?

The tablet is currently on the last original firmware version.

I would investigate what apps you are using. Are some running in the background at all times? Check in Settings:Apps What power scheme are you using? I pretty much always use high performance now.

I have found some apps try to run the GPS or other services even when the app is closed. I have also disabled all the auto-update options on all my apps in Google Play. It's hard to understand your problem exactly without additional information and specifics of what exactly is happening. Are certain apps slow? Does it wake up slowly? Etc.

Additionally, I switch off services that I'm not using. Like Wi-Fi, GPS, bluetooth. If you are not using them there no need to have them switched on.

If you haven't done so following the update from ICS to JB, then I'd suggest following the guide linked from the Master Help Guide in my signature covering how to do a firmware update that includes an OS change.

Additionally, a weekly cold boot is standard for many who use their tablets a lot, so I recommend that to you as a second step.

I do find it ridiculous that we are having to do a weekly cold boot just so the machine performs at a decent speed. I hardly bother using it now if I want to check something on the net its quicker for me to use my phone. Shame really.

I do a cold boot every time that I turn on the tablet . In my opinion this should happen automatically on any device just like a desktop computer .
Some programs do not run properly after install, some do not see added files and some leave trash scattered around the disk . I would like to see this Incorporated in the the settings menu in Android to cold boot or not on every startup .

Thank you Janner for the information.

Now that I think about it, I may not have wiped my tablet after the JB update. I did wipe it just in case and now it is fast as it should be.

I'll continue the weekly cold boot now. (I was doing them twice a week...)

Try an app called fast reboot in playstore. I've used it with success on multiple tabs and phones.
