[SOLVED] ASUS Eee Pad Transformer tf300T slow battery charge

    Hi,

I just get my new ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime TF300T-1K138A, 3 days ago, and what I have noticed is that the battery is charging super slow, something as 8-10 hours from 0% to 100%

After the first charging (which I have no idea how long was because I was sleeping) I was asked to do a firmware upgrade, which I did, and that's it. On the second charge it took 8 hours to be charged from 20% to 100%

I use the original charger that I get with him.

    Thanks for your help.

Hi and welcome to the forum

The first thing you should try is a hard reset. No data will be lost using the info in the link below. You might also want to refer to this post regarding charger issues.

I did a hard reset as described here -> How to Soft and Hard Reset Asus Eee Pad Transformer

I hope it is ok and the same as on the link that you sent? And there will be no problem if any data is lost because I still do not have any data on the tablet.

Now the battery is 70% full, so I will let you know the results on the next charging.

Ok, this trick worked. Now the battery is fully charged for 1,5 hour.

Another one. Can I charge the tablet whenever I want regardless if the battery is completely empty or just a couple of percents, or I need to wait for the battery to be emptied full and after that put it on a charger?

Yes, you can, but I wouldn't do it too often as a large number of charge cycles could reduce the life of the battery.

    Hi,

A little confusion here with product names
The Prime is the tf201- you have the tf300t, so I have edited the thread title & have moved this from tf201 general to tf300 general.

Here is a useful thread on batteries... interesting article about batteries

If I understand correctly, the dock will partial charge the TF300 depending on the battery level on the dock and tablet. So, the tablet will be going through several charge cycle before the battery runs out on both the dock and tablet. I do a fair bit of typing and the TF300 is docked most of the time. Is there a way to control how the dock charges the tablets to reduce the number of charge cycles for the tablet ?

No. And there is no need to. It really isn't anything to get concerned about
