    Texting on TF300?

    Hi everyone,

Does anyone have recommendations for apps or ways to go about being able to text from my TF300?
Essentially, while I'm in night school and receiving texts on my phone, I'd really rather be able to reply using my TF300 than over my phone. I did a preliminary search, and while there seem to be apps that forward texts to and from, none of them look to be that great.
I don't want to tether to my cellphone (Droid Pro) as, at least right now, Verzion charges extra for that.

    Thanks.

Assuming you have some sort of Wi-Fi connection at your location, look into Google Voice. I text all the time from my TFP and desktop computer using GV. Almost never bother texting from my phone any longer.

Thanks for the recommendation. I looked it up and it looks really good. Compared it, as well as I could, to similar ones and it looks the best. Would be nice to have MMS be textable too (even if just a limited size for the pics). Is there anything hat anyone here is aware of that handles that too?
    Thanks again.

If there is then I definitely want it. The developers say that it is in the works. You can also call people with tablet talk, but for some reason you still have to use your phone's mic to talk. They haven't quite cracked out how to use the tablets mic and speakers yet.

Sorry, I don't follow. How are you able to make calls with it? What won't it do?
    Thanks.

Check out LilyPad HD. It's not free but you can IM using several different systems in a floating box, while watching a movie or listening to music, or anything else that makes you happy.

I use mysms for tablet. I haven't tried any others but you can send attachments with it. I have sent pictures through it also. Only problem I notice is you have to open the app frequently to wake it.
Zipwhip texting for tablets also allows for mms.
