You both have valid points depending on which TF you compare it to. As Lee is following the comments in the thread about the TF 201 yes it is $100 cheaper and for good reason as there are quite a few differences in the 2 units and the 2 that stick out most to me being the camera flash and the screen brightness. As an iPad owner the iPad can be relatevely useless outside on a sunny day but not so the TF 201 so this is a huge cut in my opinion.

Now Anomaly has a good point for anyone who may be looking at a new tablet in that there is really no reason to settle for a TF 101 when you can get a TF 300 for the same price with a lot more features. But I think the TF 300 is supposed to replace the Tf 101 by design anyways.

The thing is Mickey, that the Prime is *supposed* to be a premium product, but sadly, as you know only too well, it was nothing of the kind.

If the tf300 is everything that the tf101 was plus additional speed etc etc, priced at this sensible price point for good quality (but not premium) kit, then Asus will have another winner on their hands. If not, then Motorola, Acer & Samsung are not far behind.

IMO, Asus cannot afford another Prime debacle...

Agreed. You know me always tablet shopping and I'm disappointed in what seems to be a lack coming out! For instance, we have the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 coming out with basically the same exact specs as the original Tab 1! Why?

I'm waiting to see if the TF 700 is really coming in the 2nd quarter or will Asus find a way to delay it 3-4 months! Also supposedly Lenovo will have a quad core tablet sometime this summer but there really isn't much competition for Asus and I hate that because I'd really like a tablet with the Prime's specs on Android ICS away from Asus just to see if it is the manufacturer to blame more so than the OS!

I think the market is becoming increasingly price conscious - Apple reducing the price of the ipad2 when the "new ipad" was released really surprised me!

IMO the Prime is £/$100 too much, even with the keyboard. My feeling is that 299 for a dual or quad core is the right price point if tablets are really to take off.

Can anyone comment on the volume rocker and sleep/power buttons? My TF101's seemed like they were going to fall out even when brand new. I just want to know if they feel like they're tight/snug (like the iPad (sorry for the comparison; it's the only other tab i've used to be able to describe what I mean)) or still wobbly and loose like the 101.
