Can not unlock the bootloader on a TF300T

"An unknown error occurred, which may be a network connection issue. Please wait and try again later."
Sounds familiar? It shouldn't be. This issue is almost reported 2 years ago and Asus still haven't fixed it.

    Few places of discussion:
ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Forum- TF300T - Can't receive OTA, Unlock Bootloader or register on Devicetracker.

Has anyone gotten the UnLocker "unknown error" problem fixed?

I got in contact with the support to get assistance.
Their last response was "We do not support bootloader unlock process. "

Asus never has and never will support unlocking the bootloader.
Do not even mention that's what you want to do. Tell them you cannot receive OTA updates. Tell them you cannot register for Device Tracker.
did you ever have your motherboard replaced?
They need to update their databse for your tablet's serial number.
Send them a polite email requesting they correct their database every day for a week.
Then send them two emails/day for another week.
Then send them 3 emails/day for another week.
    Get the picture?

Unfortunately, it costs Asus nothing to ignore e-mails. They are still ignoring mine, it's been a month or two.

What I had to do to get mine to unlock:
    1) Unroot it
    2) Reflash the factory firmware
    3) Factory reset
    4) Install & run the latest unlocker tool.

This forum has all the step-by-steps you need; do yourself a favor and do a lot of reading before you fool with an unlocked tablet. Asus does not warranty unlocked tabs because they know they would get a lot of bricks in the mail otherwise, and I can't fault them for that.

need to root and then flash a custom rom and seems this is not possible.

I have the same problem here , the unlock program by asus doesn't work with the same error as Geua .
you can boot on bootloader and next use fastboot and adb with the Flashify app and root the tablet with kingroot .
But without the unlock of bootloader itself , i can't install CWM or TWRP recovery (get the error remote (invalid session) at the install with fastboot from this tuto)
So is there another way to unlock it ? Or a way to bypass it to lunch custom roms or recovery program ?

This time it's probably Google making it more difficult, it looks like their security is not allowing the Asus unlock app to access something. Or something like that. The trick is to factory reset the tablet, DO NOT GIVE IT A GOOGLE OR GMAIL ACCOUNT, then run the unlock tool. IDK if root still kills the unlock tool or not but it used to, as did almost any change in the system apps (which of course you need root to change).

As much as it pains me to disagree.... ;p
I don't think that's it in this case. Google is the problem when the Google password authentication fails. The network error usually shows up when the Asus servers cannot identify the tablet. In most cases due to their database not having your tablet's serial or a mismatch between serial and mainboard MAC address if that one was changed at some point.
Only Asus can fix that by fixing your database entry.
Contact them by email, send along a screenshot of your About Tablet page and pray a knowledgeable rep in a good mood with nothing better to do decides to take a shot at it.
They can fix it. If they will is another question....

I've been getting my wires crossed too often like that lately, applying the wrong fix and such. Sorry about that. Probably time to retire...
