Tablet not booting past first ASUS logo

As said in the title, my tablet will not boot past the first boot screen.

I have download the Official bootloader unlocker from Asus, have rooted the device and installed CWM recovery. After a successful root I decided to install a custom ROM. I downloaded the ROM image to an external SD card, checked the md5 sum, and installed the ROM through the recovery. After a successful installation I rebooted the device, the ASUS logo appeared with a blue bar, after the blue bar was filled, the boot screen with the ASUS logo reappeared together with the text "The Device is UnLocked" in the upper left corner. So far so good I though, however the tablet stayed on this screen for the rest of the evening, until finally the battery went dead.

I have tried to install another ROM, but with the same result. I can boot into the recovery without any problem and connect to the computer.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Welcome to the forum.

I don't have a clue about your problem since I'm running stock but I'll move this to development so you get more views.

Thank you for the movement. My tablet is working again, I found a topic here with the solution.

However, the topic suggested a change in partition sizes by Asus caused the problem. Trying to install a custom ROM the same way will probably get me stuck on the booting screen again. But how do I install a custom ROM properly?

Did you clear the caches before flashing your ROM?

Clear the cache at the main screen, and also go to Advanced and clear the Davlik Cache.

    Flash your ROM and reboot.
