    Qualcomm QuickCharge 2.0 compatibility ?

    Hi !

I'm new to this forum and I searched the web to answer my question and it seemed to me that it was the best place to hope for an answer :

Does someone have tested a Qualcomm QuickCharge 2.0 USB charger with a tf300t ?
On the specs (on Qualcomm website), they say it can go up to 12V/1.5A (max) so it seems it can work out with the 15V/1.2A specifications of the original charger.

I even found a product on amazon that says it is specially designed for it (even thought the cable is not an Asus TF charger cable...) here :
    http://www.amazon.com/Transformer-Of.../dp/9714607663

I'm wondering because I would like to buy a multiple USB charging device with one Qualcomm QuickCharge 2.0 port in order to charge my phone (which does not need a specific voltage) AND my tablet at the same time.

If anyone can help me, I would deeply appreciate !
    Thanks

    Welcome to the forum

It will probably work but it would charge, (much), slower than the stock charger.

I can almost guarantee it won't work well

And especially as you answered your own question by saying it doesn't output at 15v...

I wouldn't be quite that hasty about it. When I built my cheapie portable charger I wound up with only about 12V but it worked quite well with the 300 and 700 both.

    Power Bank Asus TF700T

However I would be worried about "my 'phone does not require a specific voltage"--It requires its charging voltage to be within a specific range, and with cell 'phones it is nearly always 5V +/- 0.5. Plugging 12V into any cell 'phone I've ever messed with will vaporize the charging circuit, and who knows what else.

    Hey !

    Thanks for your answers !

The charger I'm aiming at is this one :
    http://www.amazon.com/Aukey-Desktop-...keywords=aukey

So no need to worry about my phone, there is only one USB port that has the ability to give a 12V output (the Qualcomm Quickcharge) my main question was if anyone has already tried to plug a TF300 on that output because I'm not sure it will automatically give the 12V needed if the device is not "Qualcomm compatible".

No, J. hasn't tested it. This is newer tech than the 300. You might try asking on the Amazon website, but if you want a test you will probably have to test it yourself.

Kevin is correct, I haven't tested it, but I can read the specs...

    Compatible models: Samsung Galaxy S6/S6 Edge/Edge+, Note 5, Note 4/Edge, Nexus 6, Sony Xperia Z4, Z4 Tablet, Z3, Z3 Compact, Z3 Tablet Compact, Z2 Tablet, Motorola Droid Turbo, Moto X 2014, HTC One M9, HTC One (M8), One Remix (Verizon Mini 2), Desire EYE, LG G Flex2, G4, Xiaomi Mi3, Mi4, Mi Note, Sharp Aquos Pad,Zeta,Sharp SH01G/02G,Fujitsu Arrows NX,F-02G,F-03G,F-05F,Kyocera Urbano L03,LeTV One Max,Pro,Panasonic CM-1,and more (Moto XT1570 not supported)

Safety Guarantee: A Quick ChargeTM 2.0 enabled device must be paired with a Quick ChargeTM 2.0 certified adapter; The wall charger was tested by UL to the Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 specification (link to Qualcomm Website). Multiple built-in safeguards fully protect against over-current, overcharging and overheating for safe and fast charging.

Universal charging: Also charges all non-Quick ChargeTM 2.0 phones and tablets at their normal speed (up to 5 volts / 2.4A Max)with AIPower Tech Technology. With a worldwide 100-240V AC input, it's a truly global charger and perfect for international travelling
    So...
    1) the Asus TF300 with its proprietory charging rate and proprietory pin connections on its charging cable is NOT listed as compatible.
    2) the Asus TF300 is NOT a Quick ChargeTM 2.0 enabled device with a Quick ChargeTM 2.0 certified adapter
    3) the universal charger charging rate will NOT charge the Asus TF300 at anything other than a snails pace

Its all there in the product specs & description.
