The iPad uses magnetic strips and a magnetic closing system for its "smart case". So I imagine no, it wouldn't affect it. The compass maybe a little bit, but GPS probably not. And really I don't think it's powerful enough to have such a large impact. Just my $0.02, I'm no expert

Just ordered one plus a vibe stylus. I figure that I won't be using the dock on a regular basis so the case will be it's primary home when I lug it around with me on a daily basis. The odd time I need the dock, I'll just take it out of the case -- I figure it'll probably be once a week or so (unless I'm going on a trip).
