    Issues with factory reset

I bought a used transformer from the thrift shop but it is password protected. i know it has windows 10 but i am honestly a little unsure of its exact model. :/ i tried doing a factory reset and wiping the whole thing clean but it prompts a recovery key? when i try to skip that drive it says 'there was a problem resetting your pc' sometimes it goes straight to that without asking for a recovery key.

Please help, I don't want to have wasted my money.

Hi lavenderbee, allow us to apologize for the inconvenience that this has caused and we'll be happy to help as best as we can. Based on the issue, it seems as if your recovery partition is having an issue. You can use the Windows 10 Media creation tool to create a bootable drive then reinstall the Windows 10 that's currently on your device.
