    Question T100HA Clock issue

    Hello,
i got an issue with the bios clock in my T100HA.
Its not running anymore. I got bios version 221
It just saves the time when i turn off but doesnt count.
The clock inside Windows is always wrong because of that
Any ideas how to fix it?

May be related to this topic...

T100HA forgets time of day when powered off

There's no CMOS battery but whatever they're using may be defective and they may need to service it... Though, you can try re-flashing the FW, preferably to a different version and see if that fixes it...

Yup, stuff like this makes me miss the old Eee PC netbooks... You could pretty much fix just about anything yourself... BIOS problem, just a CMOS reset away... Need to replace the CMOS battery, easy peasy... Now everything is soldered, Asus doesn't even bother publishing a layout diagram like they used to to figure out what could be fixed with a soldering iron, and if out of warranty you're out of luck.

Believe it or not, with those old netbooks you could install your own Bluetooth module, your own Cellular Modem, you could modify the motherboard to activate a second MiniPCIe slot, you could install your own internal USB hub with a touch screen mod, you could install a primary and secondary drive... but this is suppose to be progress with what they give us now... Even those of us who were able to replace the soldered CPU with a more powerful option are locked out now... End rant...

Anyway, seems you can't get it fixed but maybe try to auto update it every time you boot into the OS and try to leave it on and only go into suspend instead of shutting off... at least until you can replace it.. and make sure it's running properly...

    1. Press Windows key + r ( + r).

    2. Type services.msc.

    3. Click Windows Time in the Name column.

    4. Alternate click and then click Properties.

    5. Change Startup type to Automatic (if it’s not already set to Automatic).

    6. Click Start if the service isn’t started.

Might also have to change time server if it's giving you a error...

I tested it. After exactly 10min the clock stops counting in suspended mode.... (tested it by setting the clock 00:00 and then went into suspended)
Is there a way to fix this?

EDIT: Also the Time service got set back to manual after going into suspend for 10min

I think I have the solution ... After two years of clock problems, yesterday I decided to use this netbook to test various operating systems via live usb ...

To be able to do this I deactivated the Secureboot in the BIOS ... and the clock problem seems to have been solved ... now it is under test, but in the last three switch-ons the problem has not occurred anymore ...
