Also when I try to turn it off fully, it will shut down for a second and then the whole procedure would repeat itself. It will be stuck at the asus logo page. It will continue til the battery dies out
Try a CMR and let's see if it returns to normal.
Hard Reset:
Unplug the power cord and shut the unit off and Press and Hold the power button and the "Down" volume button together for 6-10 seconds and let them both go. After a few seconds you should see a couple of shapes in the middle of the screen called "Wipe Data" and "Android". Wait a few more seconds until the term "Cold Boot" appears in the list near the top of the screens and just press and release the "Down" volume button again and let it reboot.
Hi,
I have tried doing that but it still does the same thing. Any other suggestions?
Many thanks
I am having the same issue. I just bought my Transformer 2 days ago and it's been fine. But suddenly I get the ASUS logo screen which just keeps reloading. I can't turn the pad off or reboot according to the above instructions.
Purplish, what did you finally do?
EDIT: I finally got it. Not sure if it matters but I was trying the reboot without having the Transformer plugged in. Also, when the writing comes up, the print is so tiny you can't read it and it doesn't give you much time to make your choice.
Finally I put on my reading glasses and just opted to wipe the user data - since it was new I didn't have anything on it.
BTW, I also had installed the Beautiful Weather widget, which I also had on my Droid 2 phone at one time. That widget used to lock up my phone so I took it off. When it appeared on my list of apps on the Transformer, I tried installing it on that. I'm wondering if it was part of what locked up my tablet, or if it was the 3.2 upgrade. Anyway, I guess I'll forgo that widget all together.
I'm glad you got it worked out. Nothing will ruin your weekend like your new gadget breaking down!
Yeah, especially when your Significant Other thought the whole idea of buying the tablet was a waste of money in the first place, and you don't want them to find out that it crapped out 2 days after you got it home! :p
The exact same problem happened to me three days ago. It couldn't have been the upgrade because I upgraded to 3.2 more than a month ago. I finally resorted to "wipe all data" and reloaded all applications, settings, etc..... Pain! Time cosuming! Hope you didn't have any valuable data stored in the TF. I lost a few documents. Bummer!
It dawn on me that I purchased this $5 foam case that everyone was raving about in the forum last week that supposedly fits the Kindle. The elastic corners were putting a bit too much pressure on the power button. That may be the culprit. Haven't use the case since. Just guessing!
