i'm running windows 10, and its freakin' sweet on teh transformer
Dual Booting Windows 10 & Linux Mint 17.2 Rafaela 64 Bit (Installed on the eMMC)
Windows 10 takes care of all my needs. :)
win 10. i'm still using win 7 ult on my main system but that's just for general use. i have numerous desktops and i run everything else.. well except apple os.... but the main reason for my t100 was for those in between uses from my desktop to my android phone and the t100 fits that to a "T". it runs the same apps as my desktop so that's why i voted for win10. win8 just a pain, never could get use to it. i guess which os you choose to use would reflect on what you need it for. if i was to use it mainly for my tech use then i'd be running linux on it. so my order of fav os would be win7, win10 then linux.
So mondotone, What do you think pros and cons between linux vs windows? What Linux version do you use?
i love linux. but it's not as dynamic as windows as in terms of the sw i use. with the emulators my sw runs a bit slower. but then again how many people run cad/cam programs. when i run mastercam it's the only time i've ever experienced my cpu going full load on my oc'ed i7 desktop. it scared the hell out of me the 1st time it happened norm it's around 40-60% on a core or two. if i used it like an android phone then i'd be using linux. i got a few servers running 24/7 and most of them are of course running on linux. dif versions. ubuntu, debian and of course red hat(been using rh since the beginning). i can't seem to decide which one i like best so i run between those. that and i'm just to lazy to reinstall it. currently i use my t100 for quick edit of gcodes on the cnc machines. quick edits, verify on ncplot then load it on a flash, then load it on the machines. i wished cnc machines had a keyboard layout instead the letters are from a-z order which is fine if you only use 1 type of machine but i'm using 3 dif cnc os and 6 dif types of cnc mills and turning centers.
