Numerous problems after changing to Windows 10
Well, to cut a long story short, yesterday I upgraded to Windows 10 home 32bit from Windows 8.1 home 32bit and then did a fresh install of Windows 10 on my Asus by creating an installation media and booting from my USB. Ever since the upgrade, (not just the fresh installation) I have had numerous problems, including:
- the audio not working at all
- the screen not responding to touch
- not being able to turn off my device (although I can restart)
- having constant stutter and choppy performance
- not being able to activate Windows (it was activated when I upgraded but not when I did a fresh install)
I guessed the problem might be due to a lack of drivers so I went on to the T100's driver website and installed the very few drivers they had available for the Windows 10 operating system. After installing these drivers and restarting, I observed no improvement in performance whatsoever. I also tried downloading and installing drivers from intel for my graphics but they did not have any drivers designed for Windows 10 and the Windows 8.1 drivers wouldn't install (it gave me an error saying I don't meet the minimum requirements).
At this point I really don't know what to do. I can't go back to Windows 8.1 because of the fresh install and I can't find any solutions anywhere. I contacted Asus last night and I'm still awaiting a response. If you have any suggestions on what I can do to fix these problems, I would be more than happy to hear them. Thanks for your time.
-UPDATE-
Thanks to the users RandomBloke and elgordo123, I have come across a fix (not a permanent fix, but one that is very helpful for now)
1. Go to this link
2. Select Windows 8.1 32bit
3. Select chipset
4. Download the file with the description "SOC Driver Package(VGA and camera drivers included)
Intel official driver updates"
5. Extract the files and run the setup - allow it to download and install (if prompted to restart before it has completely finished, click restart later)
6. Once it has finished installing, restart your computer and it should have everything fixed
