Sleep of death on CM10

Completely fed up with app aborts and random reboots on stock, I've been trying to find a ROM solution that will restore some stability to my TF101. A friend pointed me to a "no name" Cyanogenmod 10 ([ROM] [4.2.2] [ No-name CM10.1 nightlies ] [ Standard & Linaro ] [TF101 / TF101G] - xda-developers). That seems to be good about eliminating the previous problems, but now I get a "sleep of death". After some period of inactivity, the power button will not wake the device and I have to force a reboot.

Same friend suggests go find a kernel with better power management. I'm very tired of trying this and trying that. I've feel like I've spent far too much time already trying to fix what Asus broke with the ICS "upgrade" and am getting close to donating a new cutting board to the kitchen.

Anyone know of a solution to this problem? I really don't care about bells and whistles, don't need to overclock or tweak my performance, just want to have a reliable tab back. Stability stability stability.
