What is the OS of your laptop? When connecting it should show up as an MTP device (media device) in Windows.
Android 3.1.
I try loading the driver with Windows finds the new device, looking in the MTP directory of the drivers I downloaded from Asus, but it tells my that a required section in the inf file is not present in the Asus Android MTP device.
Moving to help
Is it Win 7, Vista (cringe), XP, 2000, ME (double cringe), NT, 98, 95, etc. Also, does the computer made a sound when the TF is plugged in as to indicate that a new piece of hardware has been connected?
I am having the same problem on Win7 x64 and Ubuntu 11.04 x64. It was working fine (on Win7; didn't try on Ubuntu), then I updated it to the latest firmware and now it says "Unknown device". In the meanwhile I was developing some application for it using Eclipse and ADB. I also can't see the "USB Debugging" icon on Transformer, although this mode is checked...
Linux does not have any USB drivers, so that won't work. As far as not recognized after the last update, my best guess is to go grab the PC Sync suite from ASUS's website to see if that helps install the right driver to make it work. I do not have my TF right now so I cannot test it on my Win 7 x64 machine with the 8.4.4.11 update. Also, maybe a hard reset could help.
Tried PC Sync, tried hard reset, but nothing helped....
I am fresh out of ideas.
Now I did factory reset, switched off and on and then plugged into the PC and everything is OK. Maybe it didn't work with hard reset because I left the cable connected. Anyway PC now recognizes Transformer.
