Had my transformer less than 24 hours and big problem!!!! help.....

After I got the tablet, I charged for 8 hrs and pretty much left it alone with the exception of setting up my gmail and market, email, etc. Basic stuff.

I disconnected from the power cord. Put a case on it, screen went off and I put it aside and went to bed. I got up at 9 am- I heard a truck horn sound coming from somewhere. But Notifications sounds always go off until settings are ironed out. I picked up my tablet and it was hot!! very hot, and it would not turn on. :omg:- I thought, well something got stuck and the screen could have been on all nite- that would explain the hot screen..Battery probably dead....So I put the power cord back in. Now it won't do anything. Won't turn on. :(

Any suggestions? Geez- no hacking or nothing... Just put it to sleep on standby.

After being plugged in for 30 minutes or so, it turned on so the battery must have been completely drained. Anyone else have this issue?

That is odd. The only reason there should be excessive heat is if it was being worked hard like hours of constant streaming or GPS use. And even then the screen shouldn't be hot to the touch. I'd let it cool down a while and see if you can get it to turn on. Or at least start taking a charge again. Could be a defective unit. These things do happen.

Yeah it was drained alright. Let it get a full charge again and then go in and start checking the setting making sure anything that would cause exsessive battery drain is turned off like GPS and syncing.

LOL. Yeah I finishing my post as you were posting yours. Report back after you get a full charge and let us know what it is doing. You should also go in and check and see what is using the majority of your battery.

Mine turns itself off for no readily apparent reason. Not discharged, certainly. Takes ages to respond to the power button when it does, too.

Battery info- says everything was on!!!! gps-wifi-awake and screen..No wonder it died so fast!!!

Yeah gps will drain your battery quick-like. The best thing to do is to set your screen to time-out after like 5 minutes and when you are done using it for the day put it in airplane mode. And turn GPS off unless you need to use it.

moose- after mine recovered it's also shutting itself off and very difficult to turn back on..battery level fine.
