Recently used apps

Does anyone know if it's possible to delete the cache of recently used apps?

Yes, simply reboot.

In Ice Cream Sandwich I think it will be an option to remove them.

Remember, these are "Recent Apps" not "Running Apps"

Someone with ICS on the prime noted that even if you remove them from the recent apps list, they may still be running in the background.

Android is pretty good (most of the time) at killing of processes to free up memory when it needs to.
