my data usage on my galaxy nexus is limited
please understand i am ont android literate yet Im trying lol
can a clever person help me set up(is this sync?) my home wireless to my mobile phone while I am at home(and turn the 2g of mobile data off)
i want to hot spot my home wifi to my mobile as well as my TF201 while at home to save my limited mobile data usage for hotspotting while away from my home
how do i make certain this is happening?
which connections need to be turned off on the galaxy nexus
and which wireless connectors need to be turned on
    thanks any clever persons

Mary.7 - you ask more questions than you can shake a stick at!

Its easy. Turn off the wifi hotspot on your phone & the hotspot won't be there for your tf to connect to. Nothing harder than that. You should always turn the wifi hotspot off on your phone when you don't need it as it eats through your battery life very quickly.

If you are at home, & your home wifi is on, your tablet will connect to that as it always has. When you are away & want to use your phone as the hotspot, turn that on & your tablet will use the phone hotspot again.

There should be some settings in your phone/network/mobile data to enable/disable mobile data. Turn this off and then connect to your WiFi at home.

I do this on my iPhone when traveling internationally so I do not run up data charges. Most places I am I have WiFi anyway so I barely notice that that I do not have data all the time.

If you are also asking how to connect your phone to your home wifi, that too is easy.

Turn on wifi on your phone
It will scan & find your home wifi
Tap the name of your home wifi in the list
    Enter your wifi password

    You will connect

Connecting this way will turn off your mobile data connection if it is on. When you turn off wifi on your phone, mobile data will turn on again, automatically.

I have a nexus to so I'll walk you through this a little bit.

    1. When your connected to wifi at home, your phone will automaticly stop pulling data over your network, there is no extra setting to turn off, nothing extra you have to do just turn on wifi when your at home and the problem is solved.

    2. When you turn your WIFI off or leave your home networks range it will begin pulling data from the network. If you go under settings and then into accounts and sync and turn OFF sync, then your phone will only pull data when you request it to. (When this setting is on your phone is constantly checking your Gmail, App store, and many other online apps wasting data. When this setting is off email will not be pushed to your phone and you will have to simple go into gmail and press sync.)

    3. Leave your WiFi hotspot turned off. That turns your phone into a mobile WiFi network that your tablet will connect to. Only have this on if you need your tablet to connect to WiFi.

    4. The nexus has a really cool chart that tells you how much data you are using and what apps are using that data. You can then can into these apps and change settings on most of them so that they use less data.
