New to Android - how to rearrange/remove icons, widgets and apps on home page

    Hi There

Just bought a Transformer and this is my first Android device so I'm still getting used to the platform and had a question:

I have installed a bunch of apps, games and widgets across the 5 home pages but there are in a random order and I would like to rearrange and move some. How do I do this? Also I have accidentally put in like 5 icons for checking my email on the same page! How the hell do I get rid of these!?

    Many thanks.

Hello Neil & welcome to the wonderful world of android and to the forum!

To move or delete an icon or widget, simply touch and hold the icon / widget and you can then drag it from screen to screen or move it within the screen it is on. You will notice that when you are holding or moving the icon / widget, that a trash can icon with the word "remove" next to it appears in the top right corner of the screen. If you drag an icon or widget to it, then it turns red & the icon or widget is removed.

I recommend that you visit the Asus website & download a copy of the manual for the tf101 if you haven't already done so. Additionally, if you visit this thread, http://www.transformerforums.com/for...honeycomb.html you will also find it helpful with a guide and a pdf manual for Android Honeycomb.

    Enjoy your new tablet!

To keep your home screen from getting cluttered home screens, in the market if you tap the menu icon (top right corner with 4 lines) and go to Settings there is an option to create shortcuts on the home screen. Untick this box and they just show up in the app drawer.

Thanks for the advice all, as soon as I did it I realised how painfully easy it was and felt a little embarassed!

One more question. I just wanted to ask about security on Android, can I access my bank accounts as I would on Windows in a secure manner? Do I need an app for this or can I just go to the website as I would on IE?

I guess I am just generally a bit unsure of how safe my information is (including personal stuff), I am so used to having Norton or similar antivirus software!

    Thanks
