    Hi everyone!
I just registered but they are days that I use this very useful forum and I would like to thank all the doubts that you have taken me until now

    But there is my problem:

This morning I noticed that there was a tray icon that was not there the day before.
    THIS:

And when i TAP it, this comes out:
    2.JPG

And if i TAP for "search" with this thing, it open a new browser page which sends me to this site to search for:
    P20111003190029.jpg

    The link is this:
    SearchMobileOnline

    What is this??
I have any app for this "Search Icon", i've not installed this!
You know what can I do for remove this thing?
    Please

    (thank you all!)

Cellphone: HTC Incredible S --> Samsung Galaxy S2
Tablet: Asus Transformer T101 (with dock+3g)

    Welcome to the forum!

It would appear you have a search engine installed in your notification area.

I would go to Settings - Applications - Manage - Running. I would look for anything suspicious (anything with Google, or ASUS is probably legit) and then start killing tasks one at a time (maybe one with "Search" in the name or process name and see if one of these running processes makes it go away. Then go search for that app on your TF and uninstall it.

Keep us posted on what you discover.

I would also get the AVG app, that may remove it as an un-asked for Browser Helper - It is known as such on the PC Desktop and a lot of Malware programs recognise it easily.

    Thank you all!

    Let's see..

@Frederuco: Yes, I had already tried to search for suspicious processes, unfortunately there's not things with "search" or something...or something that would indicate the unwanted bar, it gets complicated

@Oldbowl: i've now installed AVG and Zoner Antivirus and I tried all the scans possible that both apps offer and there's nothing dangerous or suspicious!

There is the list of the running application, i've made this with Zoner (place the direct link to not have layoffs):

Note: excuse me if not all the apps are in english because i've Italian language...

Just in case to be more preventive, visit www.mylookout.com and install the anti-virus for your tablet, it supports Android now, I also have it on my Windows phone, it silently monitors your device and applications running and installed. Good solution for back-up as well.

    Don't you worry, there's always a solution.
Give me your e-mail and I will e-mail the apk file. Just copy it to your microSD or USB and install it on your device. But before doing so, sign up with a new account on www.mylookout.com.

So, I had the same issue on my Motorola Defy yesterday. Since I couldn't find a way to remove the app I reboot the device in recovery mode and choose the option "Wipe data/factory reset". This way the system is kind of "formated". If you do this you'll lose all apps, so you better have a backup, but the malware will be gone!

I hope I could help you...

Please let me know if this works!

See if your browser settings show an entry for "Use default" when you try to "Set home page." This "default" home page is what's being rewritten by the malicious InfoSpace application. Somewhere in the system code is a resettable entry that is being rewritten to this: "http://www.searchmobileonline.com/?sourceid=..." with the usual lengthy string of characters. If you go to "www.searchmobileonline.com" you'll find the search page that pretends to be Google, takes forever to load, dials home with all your search info, etc. It appears to come from Rhapsody, Brightest Flashlight, and a few other apps (MP3 Downloader). Various Web forum entries from the maker claim no knowledge of the malicious activity, which I take to be smoke and fog. They know what they're doing.
