should I power off or leave in stand by?

hi Everyone! Im from Argentina and got this tablet yesterday
The ipad wasnt an option due to my google adiction
the samsung 10.1 was too expensive for my first attemp to use a tablet (uss570 vs 840)
Ive a silly question: should I power off my tablet when leaving it for a day for ex. or only in stand by?
    Experience/facts on battery drain?
    thx!
    nice forum!

PD: bought the leather case for tf101, generic Car Seat Pillow Mount Holder for my little son and hdmi 1.4 at dealextreme

Hi and welcome to the Forum. When I am not using my TF I shut it down. There really is no right or wrong.

Yep, what Jeff said. Nothing is physically moving so there is nothing to wear out. All you will LOSE by turning it off is the time it takes to start from a cold boot, all that you really GAIN is a bit longer battery life and a "clean" OS every time you use it, nothing is still running from the last session.

I found that battery last longer if i put the tf in airplane mode before pressing the sleep button.

Mine gets shut down every night.

No particular reason, it's just what I do.

My general rule for the TF and all computers I use: standby all day long... shut down overnight or if not planning to use within 7 hours or so. I work from home though, so my usage habits might be different than most.

When my kid was first born, we left stuff running in standby all the time since we were up in the middle of the night most nights.

Like everyone has stated it's pretty much your call but if you decide to just use sleep mode I'd encourage you to shut down at least once every 2-3 days just to freshen up the OS. It like Windows, when things start acting screwy reboot!

OK! now I have more "experience"
My tablet is always at home so I shut it down at night and then turn it on at 18pm when I come back home. As minnemike said more than 8 hours aprox.
On weekends I use the airplane mode at night. The battery drain in this mode is really low.
My target is to decrease the battery charging at one per week or twice...
