    Red face Hello from Canada

    Hello
I just got my first Android 'toy'! I love it and hate it sometimes as I am having a hard time figuring some of the stuff out. I will read some more of the forums to see if they can give me the answers that I am looking for.

Welcome, JenPen1!!! Don't get discouraged. Many of us are Windows users and Android is a new experience. It takes a little getting used to. Stumped at anytime, there is usually an easy solution that Fred and others can help you out with. If you need wit, then there is Jeffrey!

Thanks very much for the welcome. However, I'm sad to say that after working with the Transformer and dock for several days, I found it just was not doing what I expected or wanted. I was trying to do different things using the SD card like watch a movie on Mobo, and the SD card would 'disappear' and the movie would stop, or whatever I was doing using the SD card wouldn't happen any more. I found that the only way that I could continue ( or start again ) was by detaching the dock and reinserting the Transformer back into the dock. Also the Transformer would sometimes be seen on my Laptop and other times the laptop wouldn't see it. The keyboard was also so stiff to type with. I constantly was having to re hit a key as it wouldn't register. My laptop keyboard calls for just a light touch and finally I got tired of all the interruptions and decided that maybe I am just a dinosaur and can only work with Windows!!

    Thanks again.

    Jen

JenPen, I'm not sure if that was a goodbye and you might not ever log back in, but just in case you do, maybe an iPad2 might be a better fit. Laptops can be bulky when out and about, and battery life isn't so good. An iPad2 is a lot simpler to use, if you think you might still want to try a Tablet again.

However, I would like to add, that most, to all, of your above frustrations with the Transformer have a remedy. Unlike the iPad2, a Transformer owner needs a little education and patience after opening the box to get it running smoothly. Don't fret, there are lots of people who won't deal with that.
