the little rubber pads on the back of the tf101 keyboard dock

Hello; I'm new and would like to know a source for the little irritating "parts" that you never miss untill 1 of 4 goes missing.

I have just received a refurbished tf101 keyboard rig and to my horror discovered one of those little things that nobody seems to have an official name for was missing. Customer Service at a supplier who shall remain nameless tried to catch me out with "they aren't in any of the pictures and therefore aren't covered" (I mean who takes pictures of the rear end a functionless base). Anyway, the second option is they will search about for one.

If you spent a second of your working life anywhere near production you absolutely know that there are quantities of these sufficient to pave I66 and give it that lovely tactile touch.

But what are they called and where can they be found?

Good question! I have lost one of the pads on my TF201 dock (and had to tape over the hole because the screw behind it is loose). At the time I searched the net and I could only find posts stating that there's nowhere to buy them and there are no replacements. Argh.

Little rubber feet at asusparts.eu....though pricey.
Cabinet cushion pads, craft stores (Michaels for instance) and electronic shops have all been suggested as options for finding 'adapter parts'....I'd guess you call 'em. There are a few threads around - most of them contain little rubber feet to assist in a search party.

    ...welcome to the site dogdazed.

Consider the fact that Nokia shipped the N900 phone with an extra stylus, just in case you lost the original.

    I'm down 2 on my TF101.

I just don't let it bother me.

I wouldn't lose too much sleep over the pads on the back - they are comparatively easy to find/make replacements for - but I've just lost one of the rubber buffers from the front of my dock that prevents the screen from contacting the keyboard, and I think that's going to take a bit more work to find a suitable substitute for that.

Heh. All my back pads are intact, but I've lost both the front pads. Also yesterday, I just picked up my tablet off the kitchen table to find that the power button is permanently stuck in a depressed state. :/ Fortunately I can still turn the screen on by plugging it in.

Head for your local hardware store and pick up a set of 4 or more rubber feet. Trim if too big to fit.
