Unhappy Asus Transformer 300 won't turn on or charge? HELP?

Okay, so today I got an ASUS Transformer 300 for Christmas. As soon as I unboxed it I tried to power it on holding the power button for different times several times trying to power it on, I soon guessed I'd need to charge it first, I didn't know how to hook the plug socket up to the wall adapter correctly or it was faulty because it seemed to be hooked up properly but in the end, that didn't charge it, so I put the charging lead into my HTC wall adapter. I left it to charge for a few hours till I came back to it and tried it again, it booted up and worked right through the setup. I touch on the battery logo and it showed the battery had 2% after that it powered off due to lack of battery in a few minutes. I left it for a few hours more then came back to it, it powered up again and still showed the battery on 2%, I quickly plugged the charging lead into the dock and hooked to dock up to the tablet screen, the battery icon showed them both charging, and then in a few minutes it changed to both exclamation marks showing the batteries with no percentage, it then shut off because of no battery life. So I left it for a few more hours, at first an orange light was on solid on the tablet power button, it then changed to flashing if you touched it. Then a empty red battery displayed on screen an turned straight off again. I tried the power button again but the orange flashing light had turned from the tablet power button to an orange flashing light on the keyboard dock next to the charging wire which flashed everytime you held the tablet power button. It's been like this for hours and everytime you hold the power button a red drained battery comes up. I have just tried now and the red battery doesn't come up but the tablet orange flashing light has started again. I did read just a few hours ago I should have charged it for eight hours through before usage, but I had no idea until then, even if so it still powered on and worked without the eight hours charge at first. Do you guys, think it's to do with the battery, charging port, charger or dock or just a faulty tablet. I want to try some solutions before taking it back to PC World, hope some of you can take time to read this and help me out!

Welcome to the Forum. Asus recommends a full 8 hour charge before use. You should be using the charger that came with the unit. Plug it in and wait for the light to turn green.

Did the eight hour charge, the tablet screen still showed a blinking orange light when I tried to turn it on. About an hour later I powered it on and it said 1% I hooked it to the keyboard dock and that said 1% too even though they were both charging for eight hours plus together with the original power source.

If you used the ASUS supplied wall charger for 8 hours then return it for a replacement, as something isn't right.

It seems to be charging now but only when off, I can't charge with the dock or tablet on at all, is this normal or should I just get a replacement. Because it powers on and every time I power on the battery goes up but like I said only when its off.

Sounds like the wall wart is faulty. Try putting the wart in the freezer for an hour or two (this will reset the heat trip or whatever it's called, my brain is still on vacation I think) and see if it works after doing that.
