    Question Remove "desktop" icons

I've had my Asus TF101 for about 5 hours now and have managed to install duplicate icons on the Home Screen. Is there a way I can delete one or more of them without deleting the actual progrm that they run.

welcome to the forum. Just tap and hold the extra icon and drag it to the top right of the page and a trash can will appear while you are dragging it. Don't worry you are not deleting it just removing it from the page.

What app is it? Is it still showing up in your app drawer? (where it says Apps inthe top right of the screen).

I am not quite sure how to answer this...

On the home screens, long press (hold your finger for about 3 seconds) on the icon or widget you want to remove. Drag it to the top right to the trash can.

If no trash can appears then you probably have a different launcher installed (ADW Launcher EX, Launcher Pro, Go Launcher, etc) and each one of those has a different method.

I've seen a number of threads referring to Launchers, what are they, and what do they do?

Launchers are what "Launch" apps. AKA the 5 home screens with apps and widgets and the app drawer. Using a custom launcher will change the look and feel. I use ADW Launcher EX and it allows up to 9 home screens instead of the standard 5 with the stock launcher.
