    Ladybyrne, welcome to the forum

Your husband (Lord Byrne? ) should only need to connect to his hotel or workplace wifi hotspot. If it is a secured hotspot then he will need to ask the hotel or workplace for the password needed to connect.

When he switches the tf on, it should scan for wifi networks, when he sees the network he has the password for, tapping it will bring up a dialogue to enter the password.

If he wants to look for the wifi settings, they are under Settings - Wireless & Networks

Once connected, he will then be able to use tbe internet, Skype etc as he would at home.

    Ladybyrne xx
So then you will be able to send him kisses - rather than giving them to us.

I hope it works for him. There is no way to connect a tf101 to a wired network cable as it does not have an ethernet socket.

Ladybyrne - Your hubby is in Dubai? Im on long term business in Abu Dhabi - just down the coast. If I can help, I will - I use my TF to Skype the wife at home too. Message me if he needs my number to give me a call and I'll help any way I can.

How do those portable routers work? Can they piggy back on an existing account, or do you have to pay a monthly fee?

From what I read in the link they are just compact wifi routers that give you a local wifi point. Connect the device to the wired ethernet point in the hotel room & you have your own wifi point.

There are also "mifi" routers that work from the 3G network - slip in your sim card & the mobile data connection is available from the device as a wifi hotspot.
