ASUS ZenPad 3S 10 (Z500M)
I'm using ASUS ZenPad 3S 10 (Z500M). Why does this stop charging after battery level is 60% or 80%?

Welcome to the forum Vanessa! How old is your ZenPad? Did you purchase it new? Have you perused the battery settings? Do you have any battery apps on it?

Thank you for the welcome. I purchase it new and I'm using it since 1 1/2 year. I don't use any battery apps and I didn't touch any settings.

Hm-m-m, the only thing that I can suggest is doing an extensive exploration of your native battery settings to see if it is set to do this. The reason that I suggest this is that I have an app on my phone (accubattery) that notifies me when my phone's charge hits 80%. This is supposed to be ideal for battery longevity. I don't have a ZenPad to know if this feature is native to it. If this doesn't reveal anything, check your app drawer, just to make sure there's nothing there that could be responsible. Perhaps one of our other members will have more suggestions. Anyway, unless something else develops from this condition, it could benefit your battery in the long run.

Is this a Windows (x86) model? If so, there may be a setting in the BIOS. I've got one on my (non-Asus) notebook PC. If I go into the BIOS during boot I can change it. It's at 80% and that's in order to let the battery last longer. But of course the use time gets shorter between charges too.

My friend did something in Bios as I have this kind of problem before. Not sure how he did it though.

Is this applicable to zenphones only?

LemonChiffon, no, it's not applicable to only Zenphone batteries, it should hold true with all modern phone and smartwatch batteries!

I have this app too. And it says that the ideal charging is up to 80% in order not to wear off the battery fast.
I am just curious why is this not being inform when someone buys a new phone?
