    dongle

hello everybody, I buy an asus transformer pad t 300 wifi. I go to spain at the end of the month. I read on a forum to buy a dongle, I bought • EZOPower Adaptateur USB OTG Cāble - 40 broches pour ASUS Eee Pad Transformer TF101 / Eee Pad Transformer Prime TF201, TF300, TF700, TF700T PC Tablette, i set my gongle 3 g vodafone and it's impossible to connect it. Is it a special maniupaltion or soft to dowload. I go to settings more and don't find mobile broadcast. Here in Belgium a technician of Proximus said me to buy a router. Thanking you in advance

Dongles won't work. A router for home use will work and a MiFi device when you are out and about.

After looking at the thread that Zeo has provided above it looks like the techies have figured out how to get dongles to work on our Asus Tablets, but you've got to be an electrical engineer to figure it out. Too much trouble for me. A MiFi device from the country you live in, or visiting, works so simply. Plug it in and find the MiFi device in your tablet's WiFi, under settings, and away you go.

Sorry, it won't work that way. It can, but I do not recommend going through the trouble. I would get a mobile "hot spot" instead. A little extra to carry around, but it will work fine, and you can connect other devices to it, as well.

A MiFi is a portable router - can be mains powered or battery powered - but it accepts a mobile dongle (or SIM card direct) & then broadcasts a mobile wireless hotspot in the same way a home wireless router does.

I have an Asus portable router, the WL330N3G - which can accept a 3G dongle. I use it as a repeater, boosting the signal from the main router which is about 60 feet away and upstairs.

This link may help explain portable routers :

I would suggest just getting a mobile hotspot. It's possible to get a dongle to work, but it is a lot of trouble to go through, and I would not recommend it.

Could you tell me if it is possible to attach a GPS dongle to an ME172V in such a way as to make Google Maps into a working sat nav unit , given there is no GPS chip in the tablet ?
