I found this in the comments:

As a developer, I would always choose to deploy to smaller audiences first. Asus has taken their time, but ultimately the U.S. and other countries will have a stable release when the time comes. I'm just stoked Asus is fairly responsive to Android OS updates!

Very true, although why is the prime getting it before their flagship device the infinity?

They just want to make sure it has the least bug as possible specially for such a flagship.

I assume Sweden release is a mini test for how the firmware would perform in real life

Mehhhh I have a pretty nice and stable JB rom going now; went custom and never looked back. It is as unfortunate as it is puzzling that Asus has such difficulty with software, and how hobbyist modders can produce a better OS, faster, than Asus can do as a company...

In this light, the beta-test comments make sense; crowdsourcing software is actually better for the consumer than Asus making it's own.

As far as "why Sweden" - I would bet good money that there are only a couple of thousand (if that, TBH) Primes running the Swedish firmware - heck I didn't know Asus did a Swedish firmware!

Given the HC to ICS journey & the tf300 ICS to JB journey, it would be great if Asus really are using this as a testing ground to bug fix prior to wider launch. Time will tell.

You can't defend the indefensible & the new Apple Maps data quality is indefensible - but I think it says more about the woeful state of the TomTom maps data - I'm just glad I have a Garmin...
