Hush Hush so far and that isn't what I expected since Apple is so close with IOS 5.0 release. I thought Android was in a race!
Current Devices:
Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 - iPad 4 - Samsung Galaxy S4

Then we'll be talking about Jelly Bean, which comes after the sandwich

Jesus christ, they are still stamping out bugs in honeycomb and you want ice cream sandwich already?
-
Quite - I would imagine a very large learning curve has been encountered around the user interface with the developments to Honeycomb (codecs included too). What was an amazing phone OS is becoming a great tablet OS and I am sure this will be evident in the development of the tablet implementation of ICS.

Gee...I just did a search on Ice Cream Sandwich...and came up with 3 pages of threads (over 100 threads) containing posts on the topic...
Then again...nothing "official" other than its coming 4Q 2011 and it will operate on all Android v2.3 and later devices.

Isn't it true that once the bugs are fixed using bugfixes, these bugfixes are carried forward into the next release? What I am saying is - it may be that what you see as a bug may in reality be a 'missing feature' - so they incorporate this feature in the OS and when several such features are added, you then have a new release.
Honeycomb + bugfixes + new features = new release.
But bear in mind that adding new features also means adding several new "undocumented features" which are otherwise known as bugs.
But the choice of the name is bit of a surprise for me - Ice Cream Sandwitch? Considering it is coming out in October - which is beginning of cold wintery weather (for most of the world anyway - not for Australia) - in Winter, last thing on one's mind would be Ice Cream!

I'm not sure that fits for the Android v4.x (Ice Cream Sandwich) next generation operating system release - the key motivation and value propostiion for Google to issue that release surrounds having a newer platform OS that runs across all Android devices, including smartphones running v2.3 and up, tablets (like the Transformer), and even Google TV.
For that reason...there will be more substantial structure/architectural retooling (more than past "releases") is anticipated.

All that means a complete re-shuffle of things and a totally new platform OS.
In other words {whisper mode} expect lots of bugs, incompatibilities, "they work differently now" and so on {/whisper mode}
Aw Aw!

I don't think we're on the same page or share the same perspective based on that statement. I would view it as a misrepresentation, but that's just my personal view....nothing more.
Having done something similar (a 2-year project in my case)...its far more.
