ICS: IPSec VPN Xauth PSK not working?

    Hello.
My TF101 just got upgraded to ICS 4.0.3 and one of the new features I wanted to try is if I can connect to my work's VPN.
They use CISCO group authentication, so I created an "IPSec Xauth PSK" connection and although I get the "VPN is activated" message, there is no traffic through VPN (Sent and Received always show 2 dashes "--") and I can't connect to any intranet server.
Also I cannot "ping" or "traceroute" any of them.

There is a new issue opened for this at Google:
Issue 26030 - android - transformer ics vpn ipsec xauth psk works on nexus s with same settings but not on transformer - Android - An Open Handset Alliance Project - Google Project Hosting

    Has this worked for anyone?

    Hi,
I have the exact same problem, no traffic at all and tried to send packet from server to device connected to VPN... nothing neither.
No data sent or received, even so the VPN says it is connected and the routes seems fine.

Hi! I started a thread about this but you seem to be able to explain it better than I did - as I received no replies. Can you tell me how you set your VPN settings for this - and I will try it on my TF101 and let you know how it works/doesn't work for me.

Here's a link to my thread:
Cisco VPN Support on Ice Creeam Sandwich

    Thanks very much!!

Well I figured out the settings (type of VPN to specify for this) and got out my RSA token and connected successfully. However - like you, no traffic once I am connected. This is about the only thing I need to toss my laptop, I was so hopeful when I read ICS would support this:

Ice Cream Sandwich Will Have Cisco AnyConnect VPN Support

    Issue 26030 has type Defect.
Probably, this means Google has acknowledged this functionality is not working, at least for TF101.
Using this app, I can see I get an intranet IP through VPN, so the successful VPN connection message seems correct.

They're so close I can taste it! Hopefully the next ICS update will address this issue.

Word is Asus did not compile the tun module into the ics kernel - some people seem to be successful with a rooted environment with a custom kernel. But what about Asus? When will they ship an update with vpn support in the kernel?

Normally, Android has built-in VPN client. You can find it in its settings, wireless and network menu. After making settings, you can use the facility of android vpn on your mobile easily.

Mine didn't work with the .21 update however... with the latest update .24, it works perfectly!! Now, finally I can use my TF101 to access my work.
