I promise I did. Tried it with the drive in both AV mode and regular. It spins up and I can see it as a mountable device in the settings>storage but it wont mount. Seems to get hung up there. The USB port works well with a regular thumbstick, mounts no problem and appears in the file explorer. I would assume this is what happened to you when you first tried to use this DVD drive? Thanks for the help!

Don't know what else to tell you. I tried 2 different drives on 3 infinities, 2 primes, a tf101, and a slider. Worked fine. Try to exchange your drive.

I'm having a similar problem. SE-218 will play audio CD's, but DVD's don't show up in File Manager. In fact, trying to read a DVD with the Infinity unplugged causes the Infinity to reboot. Plugged in, I get a File Manager with no content for the removable drive.

Just an update: It turned out to be a faulty player. I ordered a second one from Amazon (can always return it if it doesn't solve the problem) and the DVD fired right up and was recognized w/ no problems, magic, etc. at all.

I have the Samsung SE-218BB/RSBS. I can play dvd's using my TF 101 but I am having two problems. Please help.

!. The video plays but there is no sound on some dvd's.

    2. The video and sound start playing on other dvd's and then everything stops a half minute in.

Please share the settings you are using and any advice you might have.

    Thanks.

I finally figured out how to play DVD's on the Samsung player. I follow the OP's steps except I use Dice Player. Also on my TF101, the stock file manager doesn't open the vob's but ES File Explorer works great. Either one works on my TF700.

Interestingly, a handful of commercial DVD's will play. I have only watched about 10 minutes on each of the ones that work but so far so good.

Players that don't play DVD's for me: MX Player, BS Player, Moboplayer.

Hi followed the instructions , loaded mx player and the device is now recogised but once changing to AV mode and inserting a disc, when I select the VOB file it tries to play but then states 'video problem' can not play video file' what am I doing wrong. On a TF201 by the way with 4.1.1
