I plugged it into the pc, but it didn't have any reaction (Turning on or vibrating). Should I still leave it plugged in for 8 hours?

The basic answer is yes. At least 5 hours. It's a trickle charge so nothing is likely to happen with the 201 until somewhat charged. The long press the power button.

Excellent, thank you for getting back to me! I'll leave it plugged in over night and see what happens.

Well, I kept it plugged in about 12 hours, and the only thing that happened when I did a long press was that it vibrated.

Does your tablet boot without the dock?
Does your tablet boot when connected to a/c power?
Does your tablet charge from the dock?
If you cannot answer yes to at least one of those questions, then I would say that you have physically damaged the charging port connection somehow.

If plugged in to A/C outlet, yes. Otherwise, no.

    Yes

Tablet doesn't charge at all. In fact, I plugged it into the wall to see if it had charged overnight, and while I was checking the battery indicator went from 72% to 71%.

Well, it seems like there's some short between the battery and the charging port or the processor, as plugging the adapter in turns the system on, but doesn't charge the battery. However, I don't know enough about the internals of tablets to know for sure.

From what you say I'd say it may be one of three things...
    1) The battery is dead & needs replacing
    2) You have a fault in the charging connection or circuit on your tablet
    3) The battery connection within your device needs disconnecting & then reconnecting

Any one of them means either a third party repair/examination or a DIY attempt if you feel up to it.

I'd be up for 1 or 3. What would fixing #2 involve, or does it mean I need an entirely new board?

Probably, but it would also likely be cost prohibitive...

    TF701F will not charge

The unit will not charge. I have tried various charging adapters and also bought a new charging cable, tried to do a cold boot as per Asus help desk but it still will not charge.
This is less than 12 months old but because I bought this new ( everything was sealed in a plastic pouch) on an eBay UK site Asus UK will not accept this for repair.
Has anyone any idea where I can goto now...is it possible to replace the batteries? Thanks.
