Transfer pics and video from android phone to Asus tablet

    Hi,

I'm having a lot of trouble finding a good way to transfer pics and video from my android phone to my tablet. When using a usb connection, Gallery sees the pics on my phone and I can import them fine, but not videos.
Tried QuickPic, but don't even see an import option.
I've also tried changing usb modes on the phone and looking for the phone as a media device/external storage device using File Manager on the tablet. No luck so far. Also tried this with Astro file manager; still no luck.
I'd really like to find a photo/video/media management app that will let me manage the content of my phone similar to iPhoto or Adobe Bridge - ability to import, organize and delete images from the phone through a tablet interface like I would on a pc or mac. Is there anything available like this?

Maybe there are other usb/media sharing settings I'm missing somewhere?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

    -Jesse

Welcome to the forum SalvageCraft. I use dropbox to transfer media between devices, it's so simple and easy. Would that work for you?

+1 for the DropBox option. It's dead simple and 2GB are free.

I use Dropbox as well, but I also use Bluetooth file transfer for this purpose when I don't have internet available.

I am leaning away from dropbox because it'll quickly eat up my bandwidth as I'm on the road a lot.

Bluetooth sounds like it might be a good way to go. Any suggestions on good methods for doing this?

I'm still kind of surprised to find that media transfer between two android devices is so tricky!

I haven't tried it, (only because I don't need to) but AirDroid might work. Or use a microSD card

I always use FTP for wireless file transferring (between my pc, iPod touch, android) (basically all operating systems work)

It's like Dropbox except it uses your local network so it doesn't eat your Internet bandwidth data and is faster too (because again local network)

Accidentally tapatalked from my iPod touch
My device: White TF300T, Stock Android 4.2.1, NOT unlocked.

I just use the Bluetooth in the settings menu. Turn on Bluetooth on both devices making the phone discoverable. Then use ES File Explorer to select and share the files via Bluetooth. Then accept the files on the phone. you'll find them in the Bluetooth folder and can then move them where you want them.

I use a combination of FTP Server (rapfox) and ES File Explorer.

All the phones & tablets in my household (3 phones, 2 tablets) have FTP Server installed, and when I want to transfer something to them I just start FTP Server on the "destination" unit and connect to it either with ES File Explorer (if it's from another Android) or Filezilla (If it's from a computer) No fuzz with cables, and I can move around freely (oh, well - within range) during the transfer.

In your case I'd begin by turning on wifi tethering on the phone, start up the FTP server on it and connect to it with ES File Explorer. Then you can transfer things between tablet/phone freely.
And don't worry about bandwith - the tethering part is so that your phone & tablet can communicate like they have their own little network. It won't affect your data plan.

I'm sure there are easier and quicker ways of doing the above, but I've established this system for me and after using it for a while I don't see any reason to change.

    Edit:
I'm just wondering when I see people recommending Bluetooth... isn't that quite a lot slower than using wifi?

There's an app called superbeam, fabulous for transferring pic and videos etc from android to android. Best one I have tried and I have tried a few. Way more reliable and easier then the built in Bluetooth try it, it is free https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...uperbeam&hl=en you need to install on both devices
