The next transformer

I've always believed there's room for improvement with everything and when it comes to the Transformer model they need to do some body work in the strength area such as the TF300 screen should have been made with the Gorilla glass not the stuff of old barn windows. The stucture in general can be strengthend so there's a little bounce in a dropped tablet, in all this would make for a better machine.

I guess also Archos will soon have an 11.6" android tablet out.. should be around $350 will check this at micro center hopefully soon

been a couple of months....anyone have knowledge of a newer transformer by ASUS been quiet from asus lately I thought the tablets were enough of a success to continue?

ah unfortunately they don't seem to be too exciting compared to tf200 300 or 700, no keyboard dock and no real improvement in specs....I think 2014 will be the year when nvidia or someone comes out with arm v53 and v57 chips? We have to wait till 2014 for that right?

I'm considering purchase of transformer tablet, still not sure if need tf-700 or 300 would be enough. Regardless of my choice, last thing i want is to discover 5 minutes after i buy something that there will be new model soon. Is there any word/rumor about new model?

Any help/info/opinion/educated guess would be really appreciated.

To be honest, other than the MeMo tablets I mention earlier in the thread, I have heard nothing about a newer model of Transformer - & I haven't read anything about one either.

Generally though, the only real reason to buy a Transformer is if you want the docking keyboard. If you don't, then there are many ther options to consider.

As you are considering the 300 & the 700, then presumably a high quality screen is not high on your criteria list - in which case, if you don't want the keyboard & are happy with a more "normal" screen, the the MeMo ME301T would be my preference over the Tf300 which I personally do not rate.

If you want a high quality screen, then the Nexus10 is the way to go now that there is an app that allows reading/writing to USB OTG external memory.

If you do want the keyboard dock, then IMO the one to buy would be the TF700.

If you want to do a lot of stylus based tasks, then there is the Samsung Note 10.1

Then, of course, there are all the Windows RT / Windows 8 tablet/keyboard dock combos from HP & Asus...

Choice, choices...
