My bathroom is tiled, but my toilet isn't that high...

In my experience cellphones can survive quite a drop, certainly more than a tablet - the reason? - F=ma. Tablets have a much greater mass than a cellphone, so when dropped from the same height the tablet is going to experience much more force when landing.

There's that and I really think the buffer the screen the more brittle it is.

Everyone that finds a thread (or threads) redundant could not simply not read those threads.

With that said, I have two Asus tablets (TF101 & Nexus 7) and the screens are fine.

I can say - without hesitation - that I'd be pretty upset if my tablet screen broke without being dropped or otherwise abused.

A little empathy could go a long way here...

I have to admit that I didn't report the incident to any forum... the only shoulder I had to cry on was my wife's, who was standing next to me and could certainly feel my pain! I immediately sent it out for repair and gladly paid the cost. It happens!
I had a Handspring Visor w/ a couple of the cartridges. I think one was for backup and the other might have been extra memory. LOL.... Gave it to my nephew when he was a wee lil one.
