No Mickey, as soon as I got the message that the browser had stopped working, I went into "let's fix this" mode! As soon as I enabled it, the ICS+ also worked! They must be interdependent in some way.

Found another app to possibly leave alone, My Cloud. Figured since I never use it, I use Drop Box, I didn't need it. disabled it, Launcher stopped working...enabled it, launcher returned!

As mentioned, I had absolutely no problems disabling the stock browser, etc. that you mentioned. But the really important point is that re-enabling is easy. So feel free to experiment with disabling stuff that you don't need.

Ya -- just goes to show the sheerl amount of crapware Asus (and Google Android) loaded onto our tablets! While one person's junk is another's treasure... I am sure everyone can find some installed stuff that they really don't need or want.

My Launcher is alive and well, totally unaffected by my disabling of My Cloud. Interestingly, the Launcher's 'Disable' button is greyed out -- so I can't disable it even if I want to! Go figure...

    Bloatware

Could someone please 'repost' the list of bloatware that can be safely stopped / deleted. I have a theory that laggieness is largely down to this. It certainly helped me when I cleaned up my tablet some time ago. So if someone could do this again for OS 4.2.1 that would be good. Many thanks in advance.

Rather than repeating the information found by doing a search, try this and then check out the links to several threads on the topic.

Unless you root and possibly ROM your TF any apps you stop won't help much, if at all. However, short of a root/ROM, a factory reset will help A LOT.

Both Leeshor & Swipe make excellent points on different issues.

As Leeshor says, the lag on your TF700 will not be helped much (if at all). The reasons for lag on the Tf700 are well covered elsewhere, as you'll already know.

I have merged your thread with this one for ongoing reference really - too many threads on this subject just make it hard to find the information.

As a rule of thumb, of course, what one person disables as "redundant" would make the device useless to someone else But in addition to those listed in this thread, you can also safely disable...

7 Digital (if you have it, I have it on my phone)
    Chrome
    Email
Evernote (if you have it, I have it on my phone)
    Google Play Books
    Google Play Magazines
    Google Play Music
Google Search (will also disable Google Now & "OK Google")
    Google+
    Google Talk (Hangouts)
Zinio (if you have it, I have it on my phone)

And frankly, unless you disable something really silly like an app which is clearly not just an app but rather a "system like" app, you won't ever get a problem that you can't fix by simply "enabling" the app you just disabled.

Go ahead and uninstall those apps that can be that you don't want & disable those that cannot be uninstalled. If something then doesn't work, re-enable the app and off you go again. It only requires a little "due diligence" & you can't hurt your device by experimenting.

    All the best
