This is very weird, I turned it off 2 days ago and now I can't turn it on!

-I've tried hard resetting.
-I've tried holding the power button for god knows how long.
-I've full charged it, just in case it was out of battery.

It's not rooted or anything. I tried connecting it to my PC using the USB but windows doesn't recognise my tablet. I thought perhaps I could play around and get it to turn on this way. No luck.

EDIT: I believe I've tried all of these things: http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3...s/RS-Guide.pdf

Except for the playing around with the charger part. The charger works - when I plug my tablet the orange button lights on (then turns green after a few minutes, presumably because it's fully charged).

Hello! I am new to the android rooting community, but this "brick" was not caused by a mistake in rooting. I have never tried to root my device. The other day I was prompted by an update notification. Me, wanting to be up to date, decided to update. Unfortunately for unknown reasons, the update was interrupted. The tablet was fully charged and plugged into the wall, and I did not turn off the device. After the update "completed" on the restart, the screen became frozen on the load screen. Many Google searches later, I find the Power+Volume down menu and chose the "RCK" option, but after about a second, it changes to the picture of the Android logo with a red triangle sticking out his belly. I try the Wipe data option, I wipe the data, but the device is still stuck at the Asus screen.

Any help fixing?

Since the newest Jelly bean update, using the new launcher, there are now 2 drop down menus from the top. On the left and the right. The one on the right has 'quick launch' squares. And it looks like there is room to add more than what is already there. How do I add more to it? I have been through the settings options and even tried 'drag and drop' to it. Cant figure it out. Mainly, I would like to add a performance quick launch to change between power modes. Right now I have to go through the settings which is several steps to get to the performance option.

I doubt there is any way to solve my problem but I thought I would make a post and see if anyone else had a similar experience. I use my pad and keyboard together all the time, I charge them together and very rarely separate them from each other. I have had my tablet for about a year or so and have never had any problems with it at all, until now. A couple days ago I was charging my unit and had it setting next to me while I was watching TV. I noticed a smell of burning plastic and looked down to see a whisp of smoke come up from the left most connector prong where the keyboard and tablet meet. So if you were to look at it open it would be the post on the left, not the center charger/data port or the right hand side. I disconnected it at once and unhooked the charger as well.

Some time later I thought I would hook it back up and see if it was some fluke, that is to say I reconnected the tablet to the keyboard, not the charging cable. After a few moments (with my nose buried in the thing) I noticed the burnt smell again and disconnected it again. I then tried to charge the tablet directly and not use the keyboard, this works just fine. Long story short my tablet works awesome just as it always did but the keyboard seems to be done.

I am curious what I could have done wrong to cause this situation and if I should just buy another one or can I get my keyboard dock replaced?

I've sent out a TF300T to replace a touch screen (not the LCD, just the touch glass) a while back Mid may. A few days later I got an email with their expert diagnostics (your touch panel is cracked). Later, I traded emails with them to ensure how long it would take to repair, and exactly how payment could be made. They issued an invoice that I paid on the 29th of May. Fast-forward 13 days and I have once again asked them when would the device be repaired. They have now given me a second unclear answer stating that they did not have the part in inventory and had to order it, but it did not arrive this weekend... (?)

This "we do not have stock for that part" sounds awfully like they only repair "on consignment", ie: they only order the parts one-by-one from their source as the damaged devices reach their shop. This means expensive parts and amazingly slow turnaround on repairs... This is ASUS Iberia handling the case, and the device is being repaired in the Czech Republic.

I'm a long time Asus consumer and I'd never have bought a tablet at this stage except from Asus. Luckily I've never needed Asus' RMA any time.

I just really want to know what the average time for a repair of this sort is and whether I should begin getting miffed or not... :)

BTW: I'd also like to know how much other users are being charged for parts. I have just been charged > €182 for a touch panel (parts+labour) which in my book reads as a rip-off. I also hear a lot about users getting their kit repaired in less than a fortnight, but I'm yet to have a clear idea about when the repair will actually take place.

Please share your experiences

Touch panel replacement cost: ~ €182

Hi All,

My son's tablet has a problem. He was in the middle of setting a new pin on it, but got distracted... and while he was distracted, the new pin got set and now he has NO idea what it is.

I have done some exhaustive searching on Google and this forum, but I havent found any help other than "wipe the device"... that isnt an ideal solution. I have seen lots of posts about having the "forgotten pin/password/pattern" option help you recover the device password by using your gmail account, but that option doesnt show up.

How can we get the PIN reset without wiping all the data on the device?

Thanks!

I have a blu ray player that has an ethernet port. It's a Sony BDP-S185. My router is on the other side of the room, and I was tired of connecting an ethernet cable wayyyy across the room to watch the internet content. I did some investigating, and found out I could purchase an adapter that would allow the player to be connected to my wireless network, so i could play the internet content. I purchased the NetGear WNCE2001 WiFi adapter. It works fine! Now, I wanna go further with my new wireless internet adapter. I wanna use my TF300T to stream stuff to the adapter to watch HD content, or even listen to music, or view photos on my HDTV. Does anyone know how to set things up to do this? I would aappreciate any help you can give me.

Thanks!
