g'morning all,

I have a tf700 and a very basic email question. on the home screen, there's the "Gmail" icon and there's an "Email" link. I have set up the Email link to open Gmail, so do I need the Gmail icon or can I remove it. I noticed last night that when I got a new email, there were two notifications - and I'm assuming that each gmail link gave the notice.

Does removing an icon stop it from working or is it just a cleaner home screen?

Just noticed since update that I don't have a camera app. All the crap I see in play are gimmicks (picart etc). Anyone know how to find the original Asus app or recommend a better no frills app?

Did they(Asus) deliberately omitted the "Stock Launcher" to switch between 4.1 and 4.2 screens? I know the application is hidden and can be uncover by installing a third party Launcher and then create a "Customize Shortcut" to it. Did Asus acknowledge if they will add it in their next update or there is a problem with it on the TF700T ? I update my TF300T which had it.

my scrabble app is stuck on updating. other apps work. i have turned tablet on and off. i am now in the app section on settings. should i hit force stop or clear cache or something like that

Okay, so back when I purchased my TF300, I read the thread about grabbing Flash Player from Adobe archives, loaded/installed it, and everything was great. Worked for me in Dolphin, worked on YouTube sites. No issues.

Now every site tells me I need to upgrade the Flash Player. I re-installed it. But to no avail.

Any additional hints? Did I miss something? I have seen no new threads/posts come my way so I assume it's me specifically.

I've decided to use my stock email so I can combine my Ymail & Gmail on the same app. Now not to sound like I just fell off the log truck coming into town but during the set up of my accounts there's an option to check the box next to this sentence "Send email from this account by default".
I just don't know enough about the full operation of how emails work for this word default to mean what it means in regards to emails as I know what the word means in sports or court :shrug: anyone care to shed a little light on this & thanks in advance.

Where are those files? Would like back them up. Already lost Chrome-bk's, what ever the reason was, in my N7, so would like to back up
them from my Infinity. I use ASUS browser rather than Chrome because it much better.

I cannot find a way of controling the sensitivity of the built in mic.
Can anyone recommend an app for doing this?

i wanna get rid of Gallery and use QuickPic instead, but sometimes i still need to take some pictures like my homework paper and stuff (never take pictures of people or landscape lol)

Force closed some apps, now I am unable to view you tube

So I am using the Camera App, Camera FV-5 because I don't feel as though the stock or free camera apps give me decent photos.

While I am nothing short of sure that Camera FV-5 is a superior camera application, it's very much over my head. I've RTFM and poured over some other Camera-Bug websites that deal with it, but most of them are running on the assumption that the reader is a well seasoned photographer...of which I am not.

So, if any of you use this app and are both familiar with all the myriad of features and higher end options as well ashaving ability to tell a noob like myself how to get the best possible pictures (most pictures I tend to take are indoor, with a few daytime outdoor snaps - basically pictures of my sons when they are visiting) out of the FV-5 I would be most appreciative.

The HTML viewer that comes with the TF700 is nice, but it can't handle UTF-format files that well. (There are no line-breaks so ASCII art gets displayed as a giant paragraph.) The Office Suite opens the TXT file as read-only (and thus I can't change the font to Courier or something else).

Also, any way to open a SWF file with the browser, or do I need to download a stand-alone flash player?

Ever since getting my TF700 last month, I've been using App Backup to back up my apps, one by one, in case an app "update" breaks an app.

About a week ago, I started to get "Failed to backup your data, please try again" anytime I try to backup any app.

It does not matter what I do. I can select just one app to backup, or several. I can try just the app, or the app and it's data.

This *may* have started after the last major system update, but I'm not sure.

Any ideas?
