New tablet user need help with movies

I have just purchased a tf700 with 32 GBs. I have read everything I can on ripping movies and I must be missing something. I have tried the trial verison of Aimersoft DVD ripper, Pavtube DVD ripper and Pavtube Video converter ultimate. I finally just purchased DVD Catalyst (for $10 what do I stand to lose). I download DICE player. I tried to convert a Harry Potter moive and then I thought maybe some sort of protection and I tried Rise. If I can't rip that then what can I rip. I even copy the movies to the movie folder. Every time I start one I get 'Sorry, this video cannot be played.'

The only reason I purchased this product was for trips watching movies/playing games on the plane and hotel rooms.

Please help a complete noob lol.........

Hmmm, I just converted my collection of Harry Potter DVDs (from ep.1 to ep7 part 1 & 2) using DVD Catalyst. Used my Windows desktop with the DVD Catalyst installed there. Chose Asus Infinity option while using DVD Catalyst and each conversion was successful. Then transferred the converted files onto my 64GB Sandisk micro and have enjoyed watching them on my Infinity. If you are having trouble with DVD Catalyst a quick PM to him (Mitch is his name) and he will help you.

Thanks I tried TF700T HQ2 and that seems to work for Rise trying Potter next but I assume it will work. I guess I just needed to go through the list. Is there a better setting forInfinity TF700?

To be honest, I have it set at Asus Transformer. I own both the TF101 and Infinity and this option works for both my devices. So I haven't tried any of the Infinity options. Maybe Mitch the developer or someone else will come along with what would be the best setting for just the Infinity.

when i use skip function just to test settings (only creating about 5-8 minutes of the movie) it seems to work on a couple different settings. When I go back and rip the entire movie on the same settings I get the message 'Sorry, this video cannot be played' from either the video player that came with the machine or DICE Player. I am going crazy lol....

Don't go crazy! Keep checking back to your thread because Mitch (DVD Catalyst) makes his appearance here very often and can get you fixed up.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your purchase,

Are you copying your videos over to a memorycard or to the Transformers internal memory?

Try to play the created video file (from the videos folder, not from the card or the TF) on your computer and see if it plays.

The video created for your Transformer should play fine on your computer using Quicktime and VLC. Windows Media Player will be able to play the file as well, but it has audio-sync issues that are codec-related (not the file).

If the file plays fine on your computer, it should play fine on your Transformer as well, using the build-in Gallery app.

However, if you copy the file to a memorycard, it could be that your memorycard is bad, and then the file becomes corrupted and your Transformer (or anything else) will not be able to play the file. I have encountered this even with brand-new memorycards.

Thank you. I am waiting for a USB cable to try and copy directly from my PC to the transformer. I had not tried to watch the movie on the PC but did after your message. It started up, just got home and didn't take time to watch but that was a lot more than on the tablet lol. I did notice that the last few seconds of the copy to the memorycard took a long time.

    Thank you for your response....

I ended up unplugging the charger cord and plugging it into the usb port on the PC (saw this in another post). Worked great. PC recognized the tablet right away. Full length movie copied in minutes and is now playing. Great product and fantasic support. Thank you for your help. The tablet was about to head back to the store.....
