How does the Transformer compared to other Honeycomb Tablets?

For those that have had a chance to play around with other Honeycomb tablets such as the Motorola Xoom / AcerIconia tablet, how does the Transformer compare?

When I get my hands on one I will report. Currently pitting the Acer Aconia against my Xoom. Can't wait to put the Asus through it's paces.

I wonder if anyone was able to pick it up today or if online sales reserved them all.

I would like to know how it compares also. Wish my Best Buy would have had them available today. I am still going to Best Buy tomorrow I hope they will have a display up but I doubt it.

I was just talking to mikeinrichmond over on DXF and he said his local best buy had a demo unit out to play with. Weird because my local said they weren't even getting them in store. Had to order online.

I was actually one of the few lucky ones that placed an order yesterday at Tigerdirect and it arrived today around 3pm EST. Been playing with it for hours now. Before I got the Transformer, I had a Wifi Xoom which I bought the day they came out.

    Quick comparison so far:

    1. Virtually no lag when swiping between home screens. Much smoother than the Xoom.
    2. Front facing speakers on the transformer, Xoom has rear.
    3. Both are pretty much raw honeycomb 3.01
    4. Screen is noticably brighter and colors do seem somewhat richer on the Transformer.
    5. Xoom has a nice double LED flash on the rear facing camera. The Transformer has no flash.
    6. Touch sensitivity seems to be ever so slightly better on the Xoom. Although it's still very good on the Transformer. I came from a Gtablet before my Xoom and the GTAB was horrible until someone created a calibration app. Even with that it was still below either of these two in that regard.
    7. Source code has already been released for the Transformer
    8. Transformer comes preloaded with MyCloud and Polaris Office which I can see will be very usefull.
    9. Probably the single biggest thing will be my keyboard dock (when I finally find one).

That's my 2 cents anyway. I am sure after I have had a chance to play with it some more, I will be able to form some more opinions, but this is what I notice for now.

Quite an informative post, I can't wait for mine to come in. I'm thinking about waiting on the Lenova though. That pen input would be great for when I start medical school. I kind of want to see what their dock will be like though.

@tarheel...nice review. I think both devices have their pros and cons.

nice brief review. it's sad to see xoom sales are likely going not as well as they intended to be, transformers with full-loaded features+lower price placement will definitely stir up competition.

i'm not sure if this will be the proper thread to adress yet, but hey is it really true some apps will be sluggish on honeycomb ? ( i did see some performance sluggishness in early video review on transformers )

Many apps are not compatible with HC. Yet. Its a new OS so give it time.
