    To TRIM or not to Trim - help please?

    Hi all ,

    Just bought an Asus vivotab smart . The emmc is a sandisk sem64g.

    I am unable to perform trim or optimisation on the drive in windows 8 /8.1 I have the latest bios 0601 latest drivers from asus etc..

    I called them to ask if this is normal and they were unable to answer the question. I have factory reset it as advised ..no joy ..before I RMA it as they have advised ,
    Can anyone use optimisation on the emmc ? Especially the sem64g ?

    I like the tablet and dont really want to RMA it if this is normal.
    Can anyone help please☺

    All I need is a couple of users to clarify if it works for them on the 64gb versions with a sandisk emmc . (Ssd)

    Welcome to the forum. We do not have a lot of Vivo Smart users yet, but I know that a long time member just picked one up, maybe @MikeS could be of assistance. Be patient, we will try and get you an answer.

    Hey there,

    No problem at all just going through motions with Asus at the moment trying to find out..

    Called them and was told to factory restore it which I did.

    Next they tell me its faulty and needs to be RMA'd and to fill in the online form which I did.

    Then they say they need proof of purchase which I supplied.

    Next its not good enough and they cannot validate my warranty.

    Have reprovided all necessary documents to validate my warranty.

    Now received an email saying they dont support 3rd party products lol.

    So the telephone assistant has not logged the problem, they have not read fully the rma request form I sent in either lol

    I'm abit worried about trusting them with anything now ..

    this is my 3rd Asus product now and after all this It could be my last .
