    I'm in the UK, thanks for the offer and I'll mail you tomorrow. Everyone else I've spoken to seem to send me stock replies and don't even respond to my request for an explanation of why the photo evidence was ignored.

    As mentioned in my previous post I experienced this crash issue together with the phantom touch issue as well. The phantom touch issue was briefly resolved after the service center recalibrating the tablet and reinstalling the OS. The crash issue remained though and the phantom touch (in a slightly different form) reappeared after two days.
    This time the service center replaced the screen. At the moment the tablet is phantom touch free and fully usable PLUS as a unexpected side effect: It doesn't crash anymore upon removal from the dock.
    Potentially this issue is linked with a defective touch screen and not so much with the dock.
    However, it's been only two days since the screen was replaced so only time will tell if this was a permanent fix.

    After the RMA, they replaced the screen and the mainboard in the device. The told me the mainboard was the fix for the crash so maybe they did both in yours too.

    Thus far I've not had a crash anyhow, fingers crossed it'll stay fixed.

    I jinxed it, five minutes after this post the damn thing crashed! Seriously Asus, how have you done such a poor job with this device?!

    So this is from a windows update, I'm getting my RMA from Asus today is it possible to turn off windows update?

    From all the Tech stuff I bought this is the worst of them all.

    With Windows 8 RT, the system automatically downloads and installs all updates automatically. Unlike regular Windows, there is no option to turn this off from the Control Panel. You can, however, stop it from editing the registry. I would NOT recommend doing this if you are not familiar or comfortable editing the registry files.
