bought outright the AUSU Vivo RT Tab from ATT unsubsidized, just before I returned back to work in West Africa.. now wanting to figure out if it is possible to get it unlocked.. ATT promised when purchased they would provide the unlock code now they are claiming it is blocked due to new legislation..

Does anyone know if it can be unlocked? want to use my local Sim..

Call att again and demand to get the unlock code. Legislation has not passed yet. They are just covering himself early. Make sure you tell them the law hasn't passed yet. Be polite but insistent.

No, there is no way you can unlock on your own.
