Unhappy TF300 connected to TV ok

My new TF300 and dock arrived yesterday. Whee! No problem connecting to a Netgear WNDR3300 router.

Now, the tablet is connected to AV receiver which is connected to TV HDMI all the way through. I downloaded HBOgo to the tablet, signed in with user & password and settled back to watch True Blood S5 on the tv. Tablet shows up on tv screen, I press PLAY and get a big SORRY!

This is very sad because I wanted a tablet that had this capability. Any help or news will be appreciated. Do I have to go out and buy a Roku 2 XS???

    Oops, welcome.

You need to plug the TF directly into the TV far as I know.

    Moved to video.

It's been my experience that HBO-Go has limited functionality due to DRM: won't work w/ Roku AND Comcast as the ISP; won't work with Android and HDMI output to a HD-TV.

Nevertheless, for folks who use Xfinity Player (a Comcast free app for their subscribers), a limited amount of HBO programming is available and does work with Android and HDMI output.

I recently updated my TF300T to JB. I now note that neither HBO-Go nor Comcast / Xfinity Player will play through the HDMI micro. No problem w/ YouTube

WEBTOP and Mirror Mode (HDMI options) also are gone.

[I now understand why the need for a Slingbox using Component or Composite outputs.]

That didn't work. I got the HBOgo webpage, but just an error message when I hit Play.

Aargh! I already ordered the Roku 2 XS from Ama..., and it is on its way. When it gets here, I'll connect it and we'll see. And, just in case, I copies&saved the webpage that said — specifically — it was able to stream HBOgo. (Yes! I have Comcast.) I'll update when it gets here. And I will check into Xfinity Player.

I connected my Roku 2 XS today. My cable supplier is Comcast. Although the Roku 2 XS does have HBOgo, Comcast does not support it. That was the only reason I bought the Roku. I will be returning it — and I am also going to check into satellite hookup.
