    Hi MickeyLittle,

Trying to figure out if I have something covering the Mic, but where the heck is the built-in speaker for the Mic. I am not seeing it and do not see it in the manual, just the headphone/mic 3.5mm port. Ohhh I think I just found it! Is it that little pinhole above the HDMI port, just below the 3.5 headset/mic port?? If so, no - nothing is covering that hole or blocking it..

In googling this issue, I found this guys video and he sounds very lispy too.. Only my lispyness is much worse.. But, you get the "picture"

Sound like you need to either exchange your TF with your retailer or send it to Asus repair

Yes that little pinhole is the microphone input. I replied to your first request about the audio along with a couple of other people. I found the onboard microphone distorts rather easily while I was shooting video. I called Asus in June 2011 and mentioned both the microphone and the fact the screen turns into a mirror outdoors in the sun. The rep told me only a headset/microphone combo works with the TF101.

Send it back. Do whatever you can to hold your ground because your device is not up to par. The new Prime coming out is $100 more so you can either try another Transformer, get the Prime, or try another tablet. I can't guarantee that the Prime will meet your outdoor recording needs but the review does look good.

Thank you again everyone that replied back. I really appreciate it. I did more testing. I had a freind test her voice and she sounds awfully lispy too!
The C's, S's and T's are overly punctuated/pronounced for her too.. Just like the kid in the video but much worse. I also tested the Recording App,
same results! I made sure nothing was blocking the pinhole mic input too. So, it appears that I have a defective unit.

My concern is I will have a problem getting an exchange. I bought this online from Adorama Camera and they do not have a warranty, just the manufacturers
warranty and no returns or exchanges on netbooks or computers.. Ugggg.

I contacted ASUS support and waiting to hear back from them.. I guess they will have to determine it is a manufacturers defect??
Anyone have luck with these folks??

    Thanks again, Cindy

Your best bet is to call them, when I need to RMA my dock the whole process took about20 minutes via the phone to get the needed information to do the RMA. The dock was back in my hands in about a week.

Anyone do an RMA on Transformer?

I ended up sending the transformer back due to the lispy audio playback when recording audio or video. They are sending it back now. The RMA
status just says repaired. I called to see what they "repaired", nobody knows the answer. Will I get this info on an invoice when it comes back??

    Thanks, Cindy
